Anacardium orientale

Botanical illustration of Anacardium Orientale

A key remedy for intensely itchy, blistering rashes — especially poison ivy, oak, and sumac — where the skin burns and itches and hot water or warmth makes the eruption worse.

Key indications

  • Poison ivy and similar rashes that feel better from cold water
  • Burning and itching that worsen with warm water or bathing
  • Eruptions that feel better momentarily from scratching but then burn
  • Restless, irritable feeling accompanying the skin complaint
Worse from

Warmth, hot water, bathing, scratching, evening

Better from

Cool air, open air, cool applications

Suggested dosage

30C every 2–4 hours during intense itching; taper as the rash settles.

General guidance only. 200ck may be substituted for 200C potencies. Stop the remedy upon significant improvement. If no improvement after 2-3 doses in acute cases or after 4-6 weeks in chronic cases, try a different remedy. Consult a experienced practitioner if you feel you need additional help for serious or persistent symptoms.
